Apple now has seven Taiwan-based circuit board suppliers for iPods.

The company recently hired Gold Circuit Electronics (GCE) as its latest supplier, DigiTimes claims. The company is presently shipping "small quantities" of circuit boards, the report adds, observing that shipments are expected to increase "significantly" next year.

The other six PCB suppliers are Tripod Technology, Nan Ya Printed Circuit Board (NPC), Unimicron Technology, Compeq Manufacturing, Wus Printed Circuit and APCB, the report claims, citing "sources".
