Wed, 22 Aug 2007 Many iPods are under-used
Most owners of iPods and MP3 players don't fully expoit their players, survey claims
Most iPod and MP3 player owners don't fully exploit all the features of their devices, new research claims.
A recent survey of European MP3 player owners reveals that 52 per cent of them only use their devices to store a limited amount of media; it adds that just 25 per cent of owners store photos on their device.
"After the initial excitement of getting an MP3 player and uploading their favourite songs this research found that users rarely add further tunes, photos or data that the music device has the potential for," said Karen Hicks, product manager at Kensington, the company that commissioned the survey.
"People are neglecting their music, and also forgetting that an MP3 player is not just a music device, it has the ability to be so much more," Hicks observed.
