Apple is expected to introduce a new service for iPod users today, called 'The Circle'.

The company - which is also expected to introduce new model iPods during a special event in San Francisco - seems set to extend and improve the social music sharing that's built-into Microsoft's Zune with the new service.

Like Zune's Social concept, a report indicates The Circle may allow users to stream content from their iPods to other users over the new generation media players mooted built-in WiFi.

None of these claims have been confirmed. Apple will reveal the real deal during its special event tonight.
