Snow Patrol and Apple are working together to create an application for the iPhone/iPod touch that offers fans exclusive access to extra content as the band prepares to release their next album.

A report claims Snow Patrol will become "the first artists to deliver" this interactive album application, which will be made available for download.

This suggests Apple to be hatching plans with other artists for the release of similar applications for them.

Using the application, fans will get to explore artwork, pictures, lyrics video and more, like an interactive digital booklet.

The album, 'A Hundred Million Suns', is expected to be one of the major releases in the fourth quarter this year.
