Apple now boasts a 1.8 per cent share of the global PC market, according to French analysis firm, iSuppli.
This places the company marginally behind Gateway. Globally, these analysts believe PC sales climbed 13.4 per cent last year.
Toshiba saw its sales increase 44 per cent, according to the report, while Dell saw a 22.8 per cent rise. However, HP, Lenovo, and others saw growth below the industry average.
Apple however stayed close to the average, recording 13.2 per cent global growth last year.
