Apple's dominant lead in the MP3 player space has forced yet another manufacturer out of the market, at least in Taiwan.

DigiTimes reports that BenQ will withdraw its Joybee music players from sale in Taiwan, due to strong competition from the iPod. It plans to introduce a series of MP3-playing mobile phones.

It’s yet another manufacturer to exit the market. In September, Rio parent company D&M Holdings elected to cease its efforts in the music player market, citing “intense” competition.

Earlier this month, Olympus, maker of the m:robe media player, itself withdrew, again citing “stiff competition”.
