Apple on Friday revealed the name of the winner of its billion app countdown contest. It’s Connor Mulcahey, a 13 year-old who hails from Weston, Conn.
Mulcahey downloaded the one billionth app: Bump, a contact information swapping application developed by Bump Technologies.
As the winner of the contest, Apple awards Mulcahey a $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro.
The App Store currently has more than 35,000 apps available for download.

I thought that it was going to be a draw - not a prize for the billionth download. Why did they have that page for non-purchase entries if it was going to be the billionth download that won? Or is there a draw as well?
