A number of reports suggest that amongst announcements of new Apple products due next week, photographers could see an update of the company's own Aperture software.
Apple's Aperture offers photographers a streamlined way to make edits and adjustments, and deliver photos online and in print.
Several book releases covering new features in Aperture 3 have reportedly been spotted on Amazon including from publishers Focal Press and Pearson Education before being removed.
Introduced in 2005, Aperture 2 was released almost 2 years ago adding more than than 100 new features and enhancements.
Apple has invited journalists to a special event on Wednesday 27 January 2010 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The event is widely expected to herald the introduction of the rumoured Apple tablet.

Meanwhile, Apple's Aperture nearest rival, Adobe's Lightroom is currently available as a beta download.

I just hope this is true - Aperture now feels clunky and slow - even though it must run at the same speed as it ever has done. But having commited my workflow to Aperture I was hoping I would have to migrate to Lightroom.

Oops - that last line should say "wouldn't have to migrate ...."
