Apple Australia has agreed to defend itself against claims that it is ripping off Australian customers.
MP Ed Husic has demanded an inquiry by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission into price discrimination. While the investigation is geared towards all technology companies in Australia, King specifically mentioned Apple in the Australian parliament.

Looking at the Mac mini, the price in Australia compares favourably with the price in the UK. Once tax is taken into consideration, and prices converted, the UK Mac mini costs £59.57 more than the US model, while the Australian Mac mini costs £54.97 more than the US Mac mini.
In the States the Mac mini costs $599 (before tax).
The UK Mac mini costs £529 (including VAT at 20%)
Before tax the Mac mini costs £423.2, that's £59.57 more than the equivalent US price.
In Australia the Mac mini costs $699 (including tax at 10%).
Before tax the Mac mini costs $629, that's £54.97 more than the equivalent US price.
While Apple has recently increased the price of apps from the Mac App Store and iTunes in the UK, the prices recently fell in Australia.

You appear to have forgotten about US Sales Tax in your calculations. This varies by State, but is still significant (and is never shown in store on a price tag).
