We’ve been receiving reports from readers that Apple’s iCloud Mail is down, with many seeing error messages when they attempt to access their accounts.
According to Apple’s iCloud Support System Status, all services are now online. But a recent status from Apple on the site says that iCloud Mail and Notes were struggling for about an hour last night, with users unable to access the service. “Normal service has been restored,” Apple said at 23.18 yesterday.
However, it seems that some users are still having problems with the service, with some reporting that they cannot access their mail via iCloud.com, their iOS devices or mail. Several are greeted by a message reading: “Cannot load “Inbox”. Messages cannot be displayed at this time. We were able to access our account without difficulty.
UPDATE: Apple's iCloud Support System Status says: "iCloud: Mail & Notes - Users Affected <1%, Users may be unable to access iCloud mail." The status was updated at 15.13 on 11 May. Now that Apple has recognised that there is a problem, it is likely that the company is busily working to get it fixed.
