Apple has released an update to Mac OS X 10.8.1 Mountain Lion that is now available through Software Update in the Mac App Store.
Mac OS X 10.8.1 Mountain Lion is said to fix and improve the Mac operating system. Apple lists a fix for Migration Assistant Crash, imrpovements to Mail's support for Microsoft Exchange, and resolution for a bug that affected connecting to SMB servers with long naems.
There are also fixes for issues when playing audio via Thunderbolt, bug fixes for iMessages, and a fix for a crash that happened when you usinged Pinyin input.
The Mac OS X 10.8.1 update makes no mention of the battery life issue which is said to affect the new Macbook Pro with Retina display, although beta testers of the update claimed that it fixed Mac OS X on MacBook battery issues.
