Update to Mac operating system introduces Facebook in Notification Center

Apple has released Mac OS X 10.8.2 Software Update alongside its update to iOS. The latest version of Mac OS X introduces Facebook support to Notification Center, as well as single sign on for Facebook and Facebook friend information in Contacts.

It also has a range of new features for Game Center, Power Nap, Passbook support and several "general operating system fixes".

Mac OS X 10.8.2 is available now through the Mac App Store.

Apple has also released an update to Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion that introduces Gatekeeper, resolves an issue issue in Launchpad, improves WiFi reliability, resolves an issue with Spotlight, and improves compatibility with Active Directory servers.
