Apple's all-new Mac Pro was unveiled in June, and since then we've been eagerly awaiting more news about the new Mac Pro price in the UK. During Apple's 22 October event, we finally found out the new Mac Pro's price, so here, we bring you all the pricing information you need to know. How much will the new Mac Pro cost in the UK?
Before the official announcement was made, new Mac Pro price estimates ranged from £2,000 to £4,000. The previous Mac Pro sold for for £2,049 for the 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon-powered standard configuration and £3,099 for the 12-core model with two 2.4GHz Xeon chips.
The new Mac Pro is a little more pricey, starting at £2,499, which will be a blow for many of our readers, who said in a Macworld poll that they'd pay less than £2,000 for a new Mac Pro.
The first configuration is the 3.7GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9GHz, dual AMD FirePro D300 graphics processors with 2GB of VRAM each, 12GB of memory and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage, and starts at £2,449.
The second is the 3.5GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9GHz, dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs with 3GB of VRAM each, 16GB of memory and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage starting at £3,299.
There are additional built-to-order configurations including the option to up the processors to 8-core or 12-core, add AMD FirePro D700 GPUs with 6GB of VRAM, increase the memory up to 64GB and boost the PCIe-based storage to 1TB. The prices of the build-to-order configurations have not yet been announced, but we'll update this article when we find out more.
