O'Reilly has announced the winners of the final round of its Mac OS X Innovators Contest. Winners were unveiled at the O'Reilly Mac OS X Conference in Santa Clara, California.
The contest is sponsored by the Apple Developer Connection, and rewards "innovative Mac OS X applications, plug-ins, user interface widgets, or other creative original software".
iStopMotion took first place in the International category. The stop-motion and time-lapse recording product was developed by Germany-based Boinx Software, and is based on Apple's QuickTime technology.
In second place in the International category was ACSLogo, developed by Norwich-based Alan Smith. Logo is a basic programming language used for teaching programming techniques. It teaches by guiding the progress of a turtle that moves around a graphics screen.
The winner of the US category was OmniOutliner from Omni Group. OmniOutliner can be used to draft multiple to-do lists, create agendas, manage tasks, track expenses, write legal briefs, take meeting notes, and monitor a project’s status.
Lifli took second place in the US category for iBlog, a desktop weblogging application for authoring and publishing weblogs.
