Apple has ordered new screens for an upcoming MacBook upgrade
Apple is placing orders with component manufacturers that suggest updated MacBook models will ship in the third quarter.
Commercial Times claims Apple to have secured orders for flat-panel displays for use in the new MacBooks from Taiwan’s two largest flat-panel makers, AU Optronics Corp.and Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp.
The report claims the new model MacBooks are scheduled to ship in the third quarter of this year, between July and September.
The news emerges as Mac industry chatter speculates Apple may have a complete redesign of its consumer laptops planned, perhaps introducing aluminium, rather than plastic, case designs.
