Fri, 06 Jun 2008 WWDC: First show floor images slip
First images from WWDC 2008 appear online
The world's entered a weekend of mass speculation as the first images from WWDC have emerged.
A Gernot Poetsch was passing the Moscone Centre where WWDC is set to take place, and managed to grab a few images of the banners and slogans decorating some parts of the show.

It is interesting that these images have been reproduced on many sites now, but little credit has been given to Poetsch, the photographer who made the images available via Flickr)
One salient point is the removal of the Mac prefix from the expression, OS X Leopard, while the iPhone software now gets described as OS X iPhone. This has led to much speculation, including the notion Apple may introduce the next OS, apparently called 'Snow Leopard' to developers at the show - perhaps even offering it to Windows users, though that appears unlikely.
It has also been noted that the display shown on a MacBook included within one of the banners seems different than the existing model, with some websites suggesting Apple may introduce 16:9 14-inch displays across the range.
Wiser Mac heads observe that the banners visible before the WWDC keynote rarely offer any news - Apple customarily has banners which it unfurls after announcements take place.
