Mac owners have been flocking to the Mac App Store in their droves in the first 24 hours after it opened its virtual doors.
In fact, according to Apple, there have been one million downloads already.
"We're amazed at the incredible response the Mac App Store is getting," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO.

"Developers have done a great job bringing apps to the store and users are loving how easy and fun the Mac App Store is," he continued.
You can browse through the Mac App Store by category or use the search function. Like the iPhone App Store, you can read developer descriptions as well as user reviews.
There are several different categories, including Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity and Utilities.
Installing apps is a one-step process - simply enter your password and the app will appear on your dock within seconds. When it comes to updating, app updates can be installed one at a time or all at once.
However, there are fears that pirates are already taking advantage of a loophole in some applications to run paid-for apps without authorisation whereas some developers expressed fears of price wars, lack of consumer choice and technical support "disasters".

NOTE: Not all apps will work on your 10.6.6 Mac, and itis not mentioned in the App Store. For example - Angry Birds does NOT work on slightly older (3yrs+) Intel Macs!! App store does not mention it. There was no mention of it on Rovio's website until a flood of Mac users complained. But, they still continue to sell it at the App Store, to users that can't run it, and they don't mention any way to get a refund. You just lose your $5 as an unwitting Rovio Beta Tester. For many, it was their first App Store download; souring them on the whole experience - money only travels one way - out of your pocket - even though you get nothing in return. So, BEFORE YOU BUY, read the comments!!!! and then find out the return/refund policy (if it exists).

It looks like reporting a problem, and I guess getting a refund, is fairly easy. Just go into iTunes, then open your purchases in the account function and report a problem like any other purchase in iTunes.

There are some good introductory (cheap!) prices for the apps, and some good free ones too. I like the App Store concept, and it's dead easy to use. However, does anyone know why Apple's Logic Studio, and Logic Express are both apparently missing from the Store? If these were available at the kind of reduced price that Aperture is on sale for it would be excellent.
