The makers of the popular—and quite violent—Doom and Quake franchises have brought their latest mutant-slaughtering game to the Mac.
Rage: Campaign Edition, from Id Software, debuted Thursday on the Mac App Store. The game—which launched in October—had previously been available for the PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and even iOS, but the first-person shooter wasn't available for Macs until this week.
The Mac version features the game’s original single-player campaign—in which the player roams a wasteland, helping humanity against gangs, mutants, and a tyrannical “Authority”—as well as bonus Wasteland Sewer Missions and an Anarchy Edition featuring an expanded array of weapons and armor. Users also get a customizable vehicle to expedite their bloody travels. You can see Id’s gameplay trailer below.

Rage: Campaign Edition is available for £27.99 from the Mac App Store, and requires a computer running Mac OS X 10.7.2 or later with a 2.4 GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, and 25 GB of free disk space.
