Apple’s WWDC ticket fiasco continues with news that developers who ordered more than one ticket for Apple’s WWDC have had their orders cancelled.
Reports claim that developers who have purchased more than one $1,600 ticket on their credit card have been told find their order is “Not eligible”. They are advised to call Apple.
Many businesses have ordered tickets in bulk for staff on a single credit card and are being told that their order has been cancelled, according to The Next Web.
The scheme is designed to stop ticket touts selling on tickets at a huge profit.
Whether these additional tickets will be resold at a later date remains to be seen. The company has already come under fire for putting tickets on sale at 5.30am Pacific Time last Wednesday, before many developers on the west coast of America were even awake. The tickets had sold out before 7.30am PT.
The news that tickets had sold out so fast lead to an Indie Developer Lab event being planned for developers who missed out.
