The latest beta version of OS X Mountain Lion includes a new security update system that does daily checks for security updates.
As well as daily checks for security updates, the new system will include the ability to install required security updates automatically or after restarting your Mac and a more secure connection to Apple's update servers, according to Apple’s release notes.
This update to Mountain Lion Developer Preview 4 also includes general updates and improvements and weighs in at 1.16GB, according to MacRumors.
