Apple is expected to unveil its smaller iPad, dubbed 'iPad mini', at its official event on Tuesday, and it speculation is that the device could have a 16:9 display. However, new leaked parts that allegedly belong to Apple's upcoming tablet suggest otherwise.

Photographs of what is claimed to be an iPad mini display panel surfaced on ETrade Supply on Wednesday, with the same 4:3 aspect ratio as Apple's 9.7in iPad and measurements of 162mm by 124mm.

ETrade Supply also published photos of what is believed to be the iPad mini's battery. The model number on the battery, which is rated as 3.72V, 16.7WHr, and 4490mAh, is "A1445".

Apple sent out invitations for a 23 October event this week, which is expected to see the launch of the iPad mini as well as a 13in MacBook Pro with Retina Display, a new Mac mini, and a thinner iMac.
