Tue, 31 Jul 2012 Portraiture 2 review
While the skin smoothing and line removal is good with an even finish, there is no dedicated pimple function in this face enhancing plug-in
- Manufacturer: Imagenomic
- Manufacturer: Imagenomic
- Pros: Supports Lightroom and Aperture as well, 16-bit image support, can tweak settings for wrinkles and uneven tones, has useful presets, skin texture results actually very good
- Cons: No dedicated pimple or blemish removal, no face sculpting, far too expensive, no individual tools for refining masks
- Price: $199.95
- Star rating:
Once a star of the face-retouching scene, Portraiture 2 has somewhat been left trailing by Portrait Professional. For a start it doesn’t have any of the facial feature enhancements and concentrates purely on skin tone, detail, softness and brightness.
There’s three sections to adjust: Detail smoothing, Skin tones mask and Enhancements. A selection of presets allows a quick look at what they all do.
The Detail smoothing is the area where you can define how much the fine, medium and large detail gets removed. There’s no pimple or blemish option as such, an even maxing out all the categories will only reduce them, not remove them. So, retouching required first.
The Skin tones mask area affects the quality of skin texture once processed and can make a huge difference to the final result.

The Enhancements section tints and brightens images but also offers sharpening for slightly off pictures and softening for that dewy-eyed glamour look.
