Star Rating: rating of 3

Duration of ownership: 1 days

Strengths: Keep it simple...

Weaknesses: No upgrade path for, let's face it, only a small number of additional features that are not critical.

Overall Evaluation: It is a low cost application, but even then, an upgrade path would take away some of the frustration. We just bought a family license pack 2 months ago, and now we are supposed to buy an entirely new license for a little bit more? Is that the way to handle those marketcritical pioneering customers? And hey, Apple? FileMaker? Why don't you include Bento onto every newly shipped Mac?

Star Rating: rating of 3

Duration of ownership: 10 months

Strengths: Simple to set up, simple to use

Weaknesses: Too simple that prevents adding features or customization. No upgrade path for very minor new features. Bug fixes should not be an upgrade but an update.

Overall Evaluation: I agree with the above post from Stevends. The paid upgrade is a show-stopper for existing Bento 1.x owners. There is nothing there worth paying $50/£29, much less free.

Star Rating: rating of 3

Duration of ownership: 6 months

Strengths: Ease of use Integration

Weaknesses: Limitations on display - print options

Overall Evaluation: Upgrade is costly and unfair to make us buy upgrade as new product. Also I cannot get Bento 2 to upgrade my Bento 1 database - it is 'upgrading' for five hours now (send attempt) with no end in sight. And this is a total database of 3.2MB!

Star Rating: rating of 1

Duration of ownership: 2 days

Strengths: Can't say as I cannot get it to work.

Weaknesses: Loaded Bento2. Tried to import file from Numbers and change one cell - it crashed. Phoned help line and forum- no reply. Why? Can't get it to work at all. Don't know how to uninstall. Anyone help?

Overall Evaluation: Lousy
