Apple may have developed a .Mac-based RSS reader for the iPhone, reports claim.

EnGadget reports the existence of an active web address on .Mac which takes site visitors to a page warning that: "This application is viewable only on iPhone".

The page also depicts an iPhone displaying the familiar Safari-like RSS reading view. If the report is correct, it indicates that .Mac members will be able to set certain sites for access to RSS feeds using an iPhone.

The report also suggests Apple will make additional applications available to iPhone users through .Mac, and may add weight to recent company statements to the effect that .Mac urgently requires enhancements.
