Apple will open its first Apple Retail Store in Scotland in Glasgow on Saturday 25 August at 9am.

The Apple Store is situated on Glasgow's Buchanan Street, and has 45 Macs and over 50 iPods available for customers to try before they buy.

The store features a Genius Bar, and will offer free weekly workshops and special youth programs.

Following its grand opening, the Apple Store Buchanan Street will also host a month of amazing events including five in-store concerts as part of the new "Live from Glasgow" series featuring popular Scottish bands. The store will also host special "Made on a Mac" presentations, including a talk by award-winning Glasgow photographer Brian Sweeny.

The first customers to visit the store are being offered a chance to win a Digital Lifestyle Collection that includes a black MacBook. The first 1,500 people through the doors will receive a free Apple T-shirt.

The Glasgow store will be Apple's 190th store in the world and Apple's tenth store in the UK. Apple has stores in five countries (Japan, US, Canada, UK, Italy).
