Apple is the UK's tenth-biggest online retailer, according to the latest figures from the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG) and Hitwise.

The research — published quarterly and referring to January 2007 in this iteration — lists the top 50 online retailers, including online shops selling goods and services, but excluding price comparison websites and eBay.

The top ten list puts Amazon UK in first place, followed (in descending order) by: Argos, Tesco,, easyJet, Expedia UK, Amazon (US), Thomson Holidays, British Airways and Apple.

Apple right now is a bigger online retailer in the UK than, Ryan Air, Currys, Marks and Spencer, Comet, Ticketmastert and (even) PC World.

Apple pops-up again in 38th place for its iTunes website, which is a more popular destination than Carphone Warehouse, the figures confirm.
