Apple's annual free 12 Days of Christmas giveaway continues with Sherlock and an episode of the hit TV show from the BBC, which re-imagines the classic detective in a modern day setting. The episode: "A Study in Pink" is the first episode of series one of Sherlock and was first broadcast on 25 July 2010, loosely based upon the first Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet. Written by Steven Moffat, of Doctor Who fame, Sherlock stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson. Each episode of Sherlock is normally £3.99, while Series One costs £7.98.

Two series, running to six episodes have so far been produced, with three more due to start filming in March 2013. The critically acclaimed drama has been sold to over 180 territories according to Wikipedia.
The 12 Days of Christmas promotion runs from Boxing Day, 26 December until 6 January - with each gift only available for 24 hours.
