Tagtraum industries is shipping beaTunes 1.1, the latest version of its Java-based playlist-assembling tool for iTunes on Mac and Windows systems.

The software analyses the colour (mood) and tempo (BPM) of your songs, intelligently creates playlists of matching songs, corrects your iTunes Music Library (typos, wrong genres), lets you blog about your playlists, and more.

In the new version, the developers have improved the user interface and added support for multi-core Macs and PCs. The developers have also introduced match rulesets, and completely rewritten the blogging component.

The software cannot analyse digital rights-managed tracks because of the usage-limiting software these tracks are sold with.

A free seven-day trial of the software is available from the company. BeaTunes 1.1 costs $19.95.
