Those who like to try before they buy songs from Apple's iTunes Store may soon enjoy longer previews. Currently, Apple only allows a 30 second snippet to be previewed free.

Sources told tech focused website CNET on Monday, that Apple's CEO Steve Jobs is expected to announce iTunes users will be allowed at least twice the amount of time to sample a song at Wednesday's music focused Apple event.

That's according to "multiple sources with knowledge of the move" quoted by CNET, and in line with various rival music services that offer longer previews and even full length streaming of songs.

CNET anticipates tomorrow's event will also see Apple explain how the company is improving the iTunes music discovery experience, with various reports suggesting a new version of iTunes will include social networking features with the ability to share song recommendations.
