Apple's key New Zealand distribution partner is warning that changes in its deal with the computer company will impact negatively on its business.

Renaissance expects sales volume and profit on its Apple distribution to fall, following Apple's demand that it agree to permit retailrs to source Apple products directly from the computer company, rather than exclusively through the distributor.

These changes come as demand for Apple products reaches a record high in New Zealand, a local report explains. Capitalising on this last year Renaissance invested in a chain of Mac retail stores called MagnumMac.
