Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters will also play the event on 11 July. Jessie J, The Wanted and Liam Gallagher's new project, Beady Eye have already been confirmed for this years' iTunes Festival, as are Adele, Duran Duran and Glasvegas. In all, 62 artists will play over the course of July's 31 days.

To get tickets to the gigs, you will need to enter a competition at the iTunes Festival website. A selection of the gigs will also be streamed live.

There is also a free iTunes Festival iOS app you can download to get the latest news about the event.

Grohl said: "We are really excited to do the iTunes Festival in July and to perform at the legendary Roundhouse. And the fact that it's going to be broadcast to so many people is really exciting, because making music is more about the audience than the band sometimes. I feel like the opportunities we have to reach out to more people through technology is a wonderful thing; to see the world get together and experience music, live."
