Apple has hired former Yahoo executive Jessica Jensen to work as part of the iAd team, it has been reported.

AllThingsD claim that sources have said that Jensen will be working for former vice president of Adobe’s media solutions group, Todd Teresi, who was hired to lead Apple’s iAd mobile-advertising business in January.

Formerly in charge of Yahoo’s women’s site, Shine, Jensen was a key employee for Yahoo, reports AllThingsD, meaning “her departure is a blow to new CEO Scott Thompson’s efforts to push forward its media businesses.”

The new addition to the iAd team suggests that Apple aims to revamp its mobile advertising platform, which has reportedly been struggling since it was introduced in 2010.

In February, Apple lowered the minimum amount it charges to advertisers to run campaigns on the iAd platform, and in April, Apple increased iAd payouts to developers from 60 per cent to 70 per cent.
