With the popularity of tablets growing rapidly, the market for digital publishing is also expanding. A new series of free events aims to help designers and content get to grips with publishing to digital devices, a skill that could soon become essential.

The Think Beyond Ink Tour, which is being hosted by App Studio, features free live half-day events aimed at designers of all levels in San Francisco, New York, Hamburg, Paris and London.

The events will cover a range of topics relating to digital publishing, including:

  • Why digital is the future of publishing
  • The difference between apps and eBooks
  • The costs involved in creating and publishing apps
  • Why designers need to go beyond static, boring PDFs
  • How to create HTML5-based apps from QuarkXPress and InDesign

Ideal for graphics designers, marketing agencies, teachers, trainers and more, those who attend the event will discover how to get started creating digital publishing layouts for iPad, iPhone, Kindle Fire and Android devices using AppStudio.

The tour will arrive in London on 10 April. You can register today here.

Here at Macworld, we offer multiple ways to get your hands on digital editions of our magazines and guides. For more information about how to download them, click here.
