One of Apple's iPod manufacturing partners, Inventec, has been raided by Taiwanese lawmen on suspicion of insider share dealing.

A crack team of prosecutors and special agents from the Ministry of Justice raided the company's head office in Taipei at 1pm yesterday.

After the raid. prosecutors and special agents "escorted 22 members of staff back to their offices for further questioning", a report explains.

"We have reliable information that alleges this company's high-ranking managers manipulated the company's stock price," said Banciao District Prosecutors' Office Spokesman Huang Yu-yuan.

Inventec said the raid would not affect its day-to-day operations.
