Apple's iTunes Store in the US has begun selling ABC's Golden Globe-nominated series Ugly Betty.
The series recently launched to rave reviews in the UK, and episodes are available for sale for $1.99 in the US.
The move to release the series through iTunes underscores the growing frustration felt by users of the service outside the US. In the UK, users note that the new video-on-demand service recently launched by UK broadcaster Channel 4 shows that the business and administrative possibility for the launch of such services outside the US is feasible.
In related news, Snow Patrol re-entered the top ten UK singles chart this week as chart rule changes were introduced that make any download — including back-catalogue material — eligible to be counted toward the singles chart.
In the past downloads only counted to chart success if the song was also available on physical recorded media, such as vinyl or CD.
The highest new entry came from Eric Prydz, whose remix of the Pink Floyd classic 'Another Brick In The Wall' took the number two chart slot.
