Jigsaw Systems has been appointed as the world's first Enterprise Desktop Alliance (EDA) Systems Integrator.

The move comes as Apple's line of Xserve products are due to be discontinued at the start of 2011.

"Though Apple will still be supporting Xserve customers and providing hardware-based server solutions, Jigsaw's new appointment as the world’s first Enterprise Desktop Alliance (EDA) Systems Integrator puts them in a unique position to provide organisations with an enterprise-level alternative," insists Jigsaw.

"As well as already having a proven track record as an Apple Solutions Expert, this new accreditation gives Jigsaw the opportunity to further extend its integration services and provide its customers with bespoke solutions for deploying and managing both Macs and PCs on the same network."

Jigsaw plans to bring together a suite of software solutions from Absolute Software, Group Logic, Centrify, IBM and Web Help Desk.

"The EDA's goal is to help IT departments to deploy, integrate and manage Macs using the same Windows-based management tools as they do their PCs, and address the increasing need for using Apple computers as part of everyday business," Jigsaw adds.
