Apple's 12 Days of Christmas giveaways are proving popular, but a number of people have taken to Twitter to complain about links not working and items turning out not to be free.

Looking for information about Apple's 2013 Christmas giveaway? Apple will be giving away free apps, music, movies and more in the 12 Days of Christmas/12 Days of Gifts promotion

A number of Macworld readers tweeted that they were unable to download the two Disney Pixar shorts that were given away on 1 January. The free bundle includes 'Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation' and 'Toy Story Toons: Small Fry.' Many users were told that the item was not currently available in the UK store.

Those trying to download today's giveaway, Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, also experienced some issues. At midnight last night when the giveaway went live people found that the link in the 12 Days of Christmas app took them to the £8.99 version of the book. It took Apple until around 1am to fix this issue.

There have also been complaints that both 'Sonic Jump' and 'Score! Classic Goals', given away on New Years' Eve, had been free for sometime. In fact, a quick search on the App Store shows that 'Score! Classic Goals' is still free. Both games have expensive in app purchases.
