Apple has secured a major educational sale in Western Australia, where the Department of Education and Training (DET) has begun installing Macs in many of its schools.

The new scheme is called the Learning with ICT Schools Technology Upgrade Project. A range of Intel-based Macs will be made available as an option to schools upgrading their ICT infrastructure under the contract, which lasts for two years.

The DET is seeking a supplier for these Macs under coordinated national government guidelines, reports ZDNet Australia.
