Take Control Books' latest title, "Take Control: The Mac OS X Lexicon", clearly explains over 500 technical terms related to the Mac and the internet.

Amusingly written, the title exists to help readers understand the difference between commonly misunderstood terms such as composite and component cables, figuring out which optical drive you need for a DVD+RW-DL disc, and error codes, such as 404 and 501.

The 191-page title ($15) was authored by veteran Mac authors Andy Baird and Sharon Zardetto.

Take Control publisher Adam Engst said, "Wikipedia is great but suffers a complete lack of personality. Sharon and Andy have gone in the other direction, creating a dictionary that's both practical and fun to read."
