Perth College has been appointed as the first and only Apple Authorised Training Centre for Education in Scotland.

The status means the college has qualified as a centre for the teaching of Apple applications and software, there are less than 50 Apple Authorised Training Centres for Education (AATCe) across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Students enrolled in Perth College's Creative Industries courses now get a chance to become Apple accredited 'Pro Users' across a suite of Apple creative software, including Final Cut Pro and Shake.

"The opportunity to offer these cutting edge courses was a temptation we just could not resist," said David Smith, an Apple Certified Trainer at Perth College. "Our students are going to be exposed to what is arguably the best creative software on the market."

As well as training students, the AATCe Programme also allows Perth College to liaise and share learning ideas with other high quality learning organisations throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

"We are committed to bringing the best technology and innovation to our students and to the Perth community," said Perth College Principal Mandy Exley. "There is no question that our association with Apple through the AATCe does just that."

Courses will be available as part of the HND Creative Industry curriculum, as well as individual 3-5 day intensive training classes. For more information about the courses, please contact David Smith at 01738 877000.
