Vopium, a company that promises to drive down the cost of international mobile phone calls has released a new version of the its application for iPhone that integrates instant messaging (IM). Vopium now offers IM support for Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Apple devices including the iPod touch.
The application offers free calls to Skype, Google Gtalk and other Vopium users, while chats on Skype, MSN, Yahoo! Google Talk, AIM, ICQ and MSN are also available with support for Twitter.
The application is free to download and works with over 900 handsets on the market. Users get free 30 minutes call time and 30 international SMS messages to start with on registration. Vopium is available in 45 countries and offer competitive call rates insist the company.
Vopium is a prepaid mobile VoIP service. After using your 30 free minutes, you will be able to login at the Vopium website, and buy new credit/top up and manage your account. You can also top up your account via the Vopium application.
Available free from the Apple iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPod touch, Vopium requires the iPhone 2.0 Software Update or later for the iPhone version and the iPhone 3.0 Software Update or later for the iPod touch version.
Vopium is also offering free calls and SMS to Canada during the Winter Olympics. The offer runs through to February 28th, the last day of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
