Widget engine Konfabulator will be available for Windows PCs from Monday.

Konfabulator was previously restricted to the Mac domain, but last December Konfabulator founder Arlo Rose decided to look into offering Widgets to PC users.

Then when Apple revealed that it was going to add Widget running features to Mac OS X Tiger, offering the service to Windows users became "all the more important", Rose told CNet.

In a statement Rose said: "We're all diehard Macintosh developers here, but we recognize that Windows is the dominant platform." In a dig at Apple he added: "When you have a great idea, you want more than 2 per cent of the global market to have access to it."
