NBC News plans to sell some of its news and documentary shows through iTunes US.

The company claims its the first broadcast news organisation to make such a move to offer current, archive and specially produced material through Apple's media service.

Available content will include interviews with John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, a tour of the White House offered by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and interviews with U2. Documentary and special interest programming will also be made available.

In another slice of news to please US readers, the National Hockey League (NHL) has announced plans to let US hockey fans buy the 2006 Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final game recaps through iTunes.
