Dell appears to have dumped any future plans for iPod-rivalling MP3 players.

User reports on the Dell-backed DJLife community forum suggest that Dell's last remaining budget Flash player, the DJ Ditty, has been discontinued.

Dell launched several models back in 2003 but failed to win any significant market share.

Dell dumped its hard drive-based players earlier this year. The news comes in the same week that Sandisk launched an assault on Apple's iPod with news of a series of product enhancements and price cuts.
