The winners were announced by Matt Lucas, star of cult TV series Little Britain at a glittering event held at Billingsgate in the city of London last night as part of D&AD Congress.

Two Gold Awards were presented this year. D&AD does not automatically present Gold Awards each year; none were given last year. They went to a series of Fruit & Veg stamps by johnson banks for the Royal Mail and the moving interactive installation Ship of Ideas created by Atelier Markgraph for a German tourist authority.

D&AD CEO Michael Hockney said: "This year the D&AD Awards have been held as part of a very successful Congress for everyone with an interest in the creative industries to attend talks, lectures, seminars and workshops. Our exhibition of shortlisted work was open to all and attracted over 2,000 people, all excited to see the years most creative design and advertising work."

D&AD is a UK-based educational charity that works on behalf of the international design and advertising communities.
