Apple's deal with Disney affiliate ABC may go deeper than thought.

ABC hasn't just made five of its most popular television shows available to buy through iTunes, but has also begun making video podcasts of some of its local coverage available through the service.

ABC affiliates, WABC-TV in New York and WLS-TV in Chicago have begun making video versions of their existing podcasts available through the service, as noted originally by the MicroPersuasion weblog.

These podcasts can be subscribed to and played back on a video-enabled iPod.

These transmissions don't yet show up among the 24 video podcasts Apple has highlighted on iTunes.

This follows last week's news that adult content providers have begun releasing video-enabled podcasts.
