Quark has announced that Guernsey Press is adopting a one hundred per cent Mac workflow with XPress 6.5.

Guernsey Press is also replacing its old editorial workflow solution with the Adapt Technology Editorial system from Press Computer Systems (PCS).

The company contracted PCS to install a 50-user editorial system, which has replaced a nine-year-old legacy system and included upgrading software to QuarkXPress 6.5. The new solution is all Mac, with the latest G5 Power Macs running Mac OS X.

Guernsey Press is part of The Guiton Group, which includes the Jersey Evening Post. It publishes a daily newspaper, the Guernsey Press and Star, which is read by more than 80 per cent of Channel Islands residents. It also publishes a weekly subscription title, the Guernsey Weekly Press, and a weekly free publication, The Globe.

"QuarkXPress has been our page layout tool of choice for many years at Guernsey Press," said Richard Digard, Guernsey Press editor. "By upgrading to QXP 6.5, we are now using the latest in page layout software, bringing us more creative freedom as well as efficiency in our day-to-day business"
