A second analyst believes that Apple has had to delay the release of an upgraded iPod nano range by up to six months.

Baird Equity Research analyst Tristan Gerra told clients that flash memory prices have fallen by 31 per cent, attributing this to the delayed launch of the purported new Apple product.

"Our checks indicate this pricing decline was induced by a 2-month pushout in iPod nano-related orders, from June to August," Gerra said. "This suggests Apple's upcoming 6GB - 8GB nano will be on the shelves in November rather than September," AppleInsider reports.

American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu last week issued similar advice to clients, warning that a new iPod nano may be delayed until November.

Apple shares are currently trading at $55.40 on the news.
