Security experts at Sophos are warning of a new iPod scam email that's circulating online.

The mail pretends to be a confirmation that the recipient has ordered an iPod, and that the music player has been shipped to them. It adds that their bank account has been charged $479.95.

The email also exhorts recipients to open a zipped attachment that comes with the mail.

"The details of transaction and specification of chosen product we send you in self-extracting compressed-zip file. Read it carefully to make sure that there's no mistakes in characteristics of chosen product. We appreciate your choice," it urges.

However, if run, the attachment will infect Windows PCs with Trojan Horse software that attempts to download more malware to the infected system.
