Microsoft says it will ship Office 2008 for Mac before the end of the year
Microsoft's Mac Business Unit (Mac BU) remains on target to deliver Office 2008 for Mac in the second half of this year, the company said last night.
The company this month replaced incumbent general manager Roz Ho with Microsoft returnee, Craig Eisler, prompting concern amongst Mac users anxious for the fate of the company's productivity suite on the Mac platform.

On his appointment, Eisler said: "Microsoft and Apple are both great companies in their own right, and working in the Mac BU, I get to experience the best of both worlds.
"I am super excited to help Mac BU continue to rock the house with Office 2008 for Mac and beyond."
Speaking to MacNN, Microsoft also stressed that management changes at the Mac BU was no indication that development had gone off-course.
As previously reported, Ho is taking a place within the company's Entertainment and Devices division, though the Seattle-based firm isn't saying what role she will play there.
"The overall focus on the (Mac Business Unit) is delivering Office 2008 for Mac in the second half of 2007," officials said.
An entry on the company's MacMojo blog indicates that work is hotting-up on the new product. "This year, WWDC falls at right at the time when we're working the hardest on shipping Office 2008," it reports.
